The lecturers of Aleksander Xhuvani University in Elbasan were the only ones who didn’t come out in support of their colleagues in the capital, in their protest for a salary increase.

Meanwhile, Shkodra, Korca, and Vlora have threatened that they will not start the new academic year if their demands are not met.

In the first round of registrations for this academic year, less than 40% of the quotas set for this university were used up, these figures are extremely low for a university like Elbasan.

At the “Luigj Gurakuqi” University of Shkodra, the commitment to the protest was immediate by the teaching staff.

The head of the trade union, Peter Saraci, said that the petition has already been signed in Shkoder, hoping that there will be no need for further protests.

Even teachers from Korça have expressed that they will not start the new academic year if their demands are not met.
