Serbian president Alexandar Vucic declared that Ukrainians and Russians are friends of Serbia, but also emphasized that for Serbians, their country remains the most important.

When asked by journalists on Friday regarding Serbia’s relations with Ukraine, Vucic said that Belgrade has been clear on its stance through the conclusions made by the National Security Council.

“We can tell both of them that Russians and Ukrainians are our friends, but only Serbia is important for us,” – said the president.

Serbia is the only country in Europe that hasn’t imposed sanctions on Russia after the Ukraine war.

Vucic has also said that he respects Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
