The Serbian president Alexandar Vucic made his stance public today about the current crisis in Ukraine.

During a press conference this Friday, Vucic said that Serbia supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but that it won’t be imposing any sanctions on Russia.

“Serbia will be led exclusively by its interests when deciding about the measures and sanctions imposed on any nation, including Russia,” – said Vucic.

According to Vucic, Serbia has always followed a foreign policy that is based on “responsibility and principles”. This is why, he said, it has always had to pay a heavy price.

“I know that this might now appeal to everyone; it will be met with opposition, but we have done the best we could. Serbia has fought many wars, and lost many people. This speaks to the fact that we should stay united, and protect our people,” – said the Serbian president.
