Poor families are hit the hardest by the increased prices, said Erisa Xhixho, an MP of the opposition party Socialist Movement for Integration.

Xhixho sided with protesters this Wednesday, adding that one of the main requests voiced by them is to lift taxes.

“This is a request that has also been made by the SMI in parliament”, she said.

Xhixho said she’s against the boards set by the government on regulating prices.

“This was the response of the protests; the IMF report does not recommend it”.
