“We need a normal person as the head of state”. This is what PM Edi Rama said this morning during a meeting of SP’s Parliamentary Group.

“Ilir Meta has made Albania ridiculous with his presidential decree and this will have to change. it is very important for our country. We will have a serious state and this can only be achieved by having a serious figure for a president,” – said Rama.

“I would invite all of you to continue being active in this process, even beyond what we started today with our proposals, in order to come to healthy conclusions,” – he added.

PM Rama also underlined that the new president shouldn’t be a “politically stained” personality.

“We don’t want a figure that has been completely drenched and stained by politics. What we all need to do is to take an extra step because we can’t propose names who will be used and abused by the press in the future,” – said Rama.
