Who’s the leader with the highest approval rating in Albania?

Of the main political figures in our country, the one with the highest approval rating amongst Albanian citizens is the current Prime Minister Edi Rama (44.8%).

Next in line at the second spot is Tirana’s mayor, Erion Veliaj (36.5%), followed by former PM Sali Berish (27.2%).

Head of DP’s parliamentary group, Enkelejd Alibeaj, is ranked fourth with 17.5%, compared to the former DP leader, Lulzim Basha with 8.5%.

The least favorite in terms of political leaders was SMI leader Monika Kryemadhi with a 4.5% likeability rating.

An overwhelming majority of DP voters (63.2%) chose former PM Sali Berisha as their most preferred leader, compared to 15.4% who chose Basha.

Albanians are separated into 2 almost equal camps, when it comes to their opinion of the High Court’s decision to recognize the legitimacy of the December 11 National Assembly called by former PM Sali Berisha.

2 in 5 Albanians (44.3%) think that the Court made a biased decision whereas 40.7% think the court’s decision was objective and impartial.

63.2% of DP voters were in favor of the Court’s decision.

Almost half of Albanian citizens (48.9%) think that the DP faction that has publicaly come out against Bershia should follow the legal path and take their case to court.

Findings were retrieved from Euronews Albania’s Barometer by MRB and Data Centrum, through in-person conversations conducted at a national level from April 25 – March 5.
