The State Police found 145 kilograms of cannabis wrapped in plastic and stashed in large tanks on Saturday in the village of Noja, located in the municipality of Kruja.
Among the people involved was the chief of the village, a traditional Albanian title attributed to persons who serve as mediators between the public administration and the village community, who has now been arrested.
Another person is wanted by the police.
The Durrsi police, in cooperation with the Kruja police department, organized the operation.
Together with the stash, police also found ammunition.
Police confirm that the investigation is still ongoing.
