The National Council of the Territory has so far signed 22 orders on the confiscation of buildings without a permit.

22 illegal constructions have been confiscated so far since the month of September.

The data comes from an announcement made by the National Council of the Territory, which states that these buildings, which include illegal additions, will be taken over by the state for housing purposes.

9 of them are located in Tirana, 5 in Kavaja, 4 in Vlora, 2 in Himara, 1 in Saranda, and 1 in Durres.

The specific paperwork for these buildings – which includes the names of the owners and firms that were involved in the abusive construction process – have not yet been made public by the KKT.

However, they have confirmed that there will be a general surface area that will be used for the public interest, amounting to around 97,500 square meters.

The state-ordered action to locate and discourage builders that violate building regulations began in September 2022, when the Council of Ministers approved the confiscation order, through which building owners must either buy the building without permission at its market value or donate it to the state, which the latter could then use to accommodate families who have lost their homes or are affected by various reconstruction projects.
