The US Department of State called former PM Sali Berisha’s accusations against the US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, ‘unjustified’.

Berisha has declared that Kim is acting like a governor in Albania and that she sides with PM Edi Rama, whereas the spokesperson for the US Department of State, Ned Price, tried to debunk these accusations.

‘Washington is concerned about the unjustified attacks against our ambassador in Tirana. These ugly attacks don’t represent the Albanian people,” – said Price for VOA (Voice of America).

According to him, ambassador Kim has rigorously followed instructions of the US government, by holding accountable all those involved in corruption or trying to undermine democracy.

The DoS spokesperson also added that next year will mark the 100th anniversary of our two countries establishing their bilateral relations while underlining the United States’ appreciation of their rapport with Albania.
