Starting from June 1, no more single-use plastic bags will be allowed.
PM Edi Rama confirmed the news through a Facebook post, adding that starting form Wednesday, this will be the start of a new era for our country.
The initiative to ban all plastic bags, said the prime minister, will be in favor of protecting our nation and the future of our children.
“Good morning, everyone. I would like to remind you that starting from Wednesday [June 1], a new era will start for patriotic Albania, with the all-out ban on all single-use plastic bags, which will be in favor of protecting the nation of our children. I wish everyone a great week,” – said Rama.
Earlier, the head of government has explained that this new initiative won’t allow for any leeway for plastic bag manufacturers operating in our country.
