The Special Appeals Court (GJKKO) accepted SPAK’s request to call off all investigations on ex-attorney general’s Adriatik Llalla’s case.

The former attorney general has been under investigation on charges of hiding personal wealth, but seeing that he has been tried and convicted once on these charges, SPAK asked GJKKO to call off all investigations against him.

A few months ago, the Special Appeals Court sentenced Llalla to 2 years in prison on three separate charges, one of which was hiding personal wealth. In addition, 11 thousand square meters of land and an apartment registered in his name were confiscated by authorities.

Llalla is the first high-ranking official in the justice system to be given a prison sentence. In 2018, Llalla was also included in the non grata list of the US Department of State. Llalla and his family members were permanently denied entry into the United States.

Adriatik Llalla was arrested in Italy back in December 2021, following orders of the Albanian judicial.
