In a report published this Wednesday by Freedom House on nations in transit, Kosovo is once again ranked among a group of hybrid regimes/ transitory democracies.
On a scale of 1 to 7 points, where 1 is the lowest form of democracy, according to this year’s report, Kosovo made an improvement from 3.14 points in the previous report to 3.25.
This increase was made in the category of democratic governance, which went from 2.50 points in last year’s report to 3.00 this year, reports Voice of America.
The assessment on the independence of the judicial also went up to 2.75 points, compared to 2.50 last year, whereas all over evaluations remained unchanged.
Other countries in the region like Serbia and Bosnia Hercegovina saw a poorer result in the 2022 report, whereas countries like Montenegro and North Macedonia remained unchanged.
