Residents of the areas surrounding Rinas, have staged a protest this morning to openly voice their concerns regarding a decision made by the ARRSH on the deviation of the airport road.
Residents are calling for a complete reversal of this decision, under claims that their lives have been severely affected.
“We will stay here, we’re not going anywhere,” – said one of the protestors.
“We need to work on our plantations, our children need to go to school. The government is forcing us to walk an extra 35 km a day,” – said another citizen.
Meanwhile, numerous police officers have shown up at the scene and are trying to disperse residents who refuse to free up the road as a sign of protest.
