Socialist MP Erion Braçe, said that if we had relied on local production, prices of basic food products wouldn’t have increased.
During his speech at today’s plenum, Brace said that our country does not need to import, as it has endless opportunities to produce locally.
“Inflation is the next challenge and our inflation is showing that it cannot be kept in place by simply introducing monetary measures. If you look at data from August, if you ask me, the inflationary changes that came as a result of food and alcoholic beverages is, of course, undeserved.
If we had relied heavily on domestic production, we would have listened, we would have changed the policies, and without any discussion, milk, cheese and eggs wouldn’t have increased by 22.3%, and bread and wheats by 20.4%. We have the opportunity to produce locally, we don’t need imports”, emphasized Brace.
