Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti received on Monday the EU Special Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.

According to the agenda, the two officials spoke about the progress achieved so far, constructive approaches throughout the entire dialogue process in Brussels, principles, values, and the objective of this process.

PM Kurti reiterated that the government of Kosovo is committed to a dialogue based on principles, where citizens on both sides of the borders are the main beneficiaries, through a stable and binding agreement centered around mutual recognition.

Kurti and Lajcak also spoke about the agreement for the implementation of the energy guideline.

He reiterated the commitment of his government in its implementation to bring to an end a ‘longtime inherited problem’.

After more than 20 years, four communes in Kosovo’s north, namely Leposavic, Zubin Potok, Zvecan, and Northern Mitrovica, will start paying for energy bills.

The agreement is seen to have spared the state budget tens of millions of euros annually, which was being paid to cover energy expenditures in the country’s north.
