Montenegrin President, Milo Đukanović, has mandated URA party leader Dritan Abazovic to form the new government of Montenegro.

Đukanović and Abazovic met earlier today, during which the Montenegrin president notified the deputy PM that he had concluded the counseling process and would proceed with officially mandating him.

“Representatives of URA movement and their political partners have convinced me without any doubt that they have a parliamentary majority for the appointment of Montenegro’s Government in the Montenegrin Parliament. I am convinced that it is in the best interest of Montenegro to build a government with a full capacity as soon as possible, especially due to the additional obstacles we are facing both from the security and political aspects as a result of the war in Ukraine and its reflection on our regional stability,” – stated Đukanović in his formal address.

Ura and its leader, Dritan Abazovic, are looking to form a government of minorities, which will include parties of national minority groups – Albanians, Bosnians, and the pro-Serbian SNP – along with URA.
