Russian President Vladimir Putin compared the referendum for the unification of Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia with Kosovo’s proclamation of independence.
His statement came during a meeting with UN general secretary Antonio Guterres in Moscow.
“The only distinction is that such a decision on Kosovo’s sovereignty was taken by the parliament, meanwhile in Crimea and Sevastopol the decision was taken through a popular referendum”, Putin declared.
Vladimir Putin held that negotiations with Ukraine will continue and that he hopes for a positive outcome from the dialogue, reports BBC.
