Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted to comments made Wednesday by the Presidents of Kosovo and Montenegro criticizing the Open Balkan initiative.

During an official visit to Prishtina, Djukanovic and Vjosa said regional integration should be promoted through the Berlin Process.

Although Rama didn’t mention any specific names, he wrote on Twitter that the Open Balkan will not stop, adding that it accelerates the path to the EU.

“Whoever’s against Open Balkan has a right not to see, hear, or understand that this initiative fosters peace, cooperation, integration and accelerates the Berlin Process. Open Balkan won’t be stopped because the future can’t be stopped”, Rama wrote.

Albania, Serbia, and North Macedonia are the only members of the Open Balkan, while Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro have turned down invitations to join the regional initiative.
