The U.S Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, has been very clear on her statement addressed to Albanian politicians.

The representative of the White House in Albania asked Albanian leaders to end the games with the judiciary reform, and advance the Electoral Reform.

Despite the latest events caused by the demolition of the National Theater building, it looks like the Prime Minister and the head of the opposition have come to a consensus.

Initially, it was the leader of the Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha, who in a statement to the media announced that the opposition has not left the table. Mr. Basha made accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama, saying that he intends to destroy the electoral reform by taking Albania’s European future hostage.

“Edi Rama’s game, in hopes that by destroying the National Theater, would destroy the Electoral Reform and take hostage the integration process, has now been revealed. Everyone has seen this mafia plan, which aims to hinder electoral reform and the country’s integration,” said DP chairman.

“We will not abandon Electoral Reform. We have never left in order to return now. We have never left the table”, added Mr. Basha.

Shortly after this statement, Ambassador Yuri Kim reacted on her Twitter account by welcoming his decision to complete the Electoral Reform and demanded tht other leaders show the same leadership skills.

“We welcome the decision of DP Chair Lulzim Basha, to conclude electoral reform. We look forward to other leaders showing similar leadership,” was written on the post.
